Cornishware was traditionally made in Church Gresley, Derbyshire. Since 2017, production has primarily been based in the West Country, England, utilising traditional Cornish clay and glaze that have been used since the 1920s, along with many time-honoured manufacturing techniques. Flatware items (mainly plates and bowls) are decorated by hand, while handled items are crafted using similar, highly skilled techniques. These include the additional process of applying wax relief to all cream-coloured areas before undergoing a hand-dipping process. Over 80% of the products sold are now made at our site in the South West of England, where the business employs 35 talented and dedicated individuals, led by Charles Rickards and his daughter, Rebecca. All our pottery products are dishwasher, microwave safe and oven-proof up to 225ºC. Do not place items on a direct source of heat, e.g. halogen burner, electric hob, or gas burner, or directly from freezer to hot oven.
