Where is Cornishware made?

Cornishware was traditionally made in Church Gresley, Derbyshire. Since 2017 production has been primarily been based in the West Country, England, using the traditional Cornish clay and glaze used since the 1920s and many of the time honoured manufacturing techniques. Flatware items, a generic term for mainly plates and bowls are decorated by hand, and handled items are made using similar and highly dextrous skills with the additional process of applying wax relief to all the cream coloured areas before a hand dipping process is deployed. Over 80% of the products sold are now made on our site in the South West of England where the business employs 35 very talented and committed people, led by Charles Rickards and his daughter Rebecca. You can read more about the history of the brand, and the repatriation journey in the About Us section.

Is Cornishware dishwasher and oven safe?

All our pottery products are dishwasher, microwave safe and oven-proof up to 225ºC. Do not place items on a direct source of heat, e.g. halogen burner, electric hob, or gas burner, or directly from freezer to hot oven.
