how did it all start?

Last year, the clever chaps from Aardman popped over to have a good old chinwag with the folks at Cornishware. And why, you ask? Well, it’s all for a cracking project. There’s a brand-new Wallace & Gromit film coming out this Christmas Day, called Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl. That’s right—Feathers McGraw’s making a comeback, and things are about to get, well… fowl, you might say!

Our Cornishware blue-and-white-striped mugs you’ll recognize from Wallace’s kitchen, are back on the telly, too! And if that wasn’t exciting enough, Aardman and Cornishware have teamed up to make a special set of mugs, just for fans. A proper treat for anyone who loves a brew and a bit of banter!

creating the mugs

We got to work in the pottery, putting our heads together to design some extra special Wallace and Gromit mugs. After crafting those classic Cornishware stripes, we use a clever little technique called sponging—takes a steady hand. With a careful dab here and a dab there, we sponge on a big ‘W’ for Wallace or a ‘G’ for Gromit. Each mug will go through 25 pairs of hands before it’s ready.

tah dah!

All done and dusted! The mugs have come out of the kiln, all cooled down and looking grand—shiny and just right for a proper brew. Our special Wallace and Gromit mugs are set to launch on the 6th of December at midday. Pop the date in your diary and we’ll see you there!
